On Windows to do what you're asking, you would need a program of some type to route the ASIO output of the Apollo to your USB DAC-device. On OS X it would be similar, but would require you to have some program to route CoreAudio instead of ASIO.

Are kexts existing for this ? Thanks for your replies . I don't think that USB will work with OSX As far having OS recognizing thunderbolt goes it simply won't do that. It will however, if booted with the Apollo already on and OS restarted after said boot (I know I know its weird but its the truth), show up as an audio device and work 100 percent normal.
